  • Klug is a grocery app for Kenya. You build a shopping list, and Klug compares prices across stores near you and shows what your basket costs and where it costs least, before you leave home. You can also scan your receipts to track your spending.

  • Yes. Klug is free to download and use.

  • Klug compares prices at supermarkets near you, based on the search radius you set in the app. We're adding more stores and areas over time, and you can see which stores are near you when you open the app.

  • Klug shows prices submitted directly by stores first, then recent prices from other shoppers' receipts, then older prices. Every price shows how recent it is. Shelf prices can change at any time, so check the price at the shelf before you pay.

  • Yes. Create a group in the app and invite family or friends. Members can share shopping lists, see what everyone plans to buy and agree on a budget together. A group has an owner, admins and members, and only the group's members can see its lists.

  • Try the brand name or a simpler name, or browse by category. If it still isn't there, you can add it to your list yourself, and Klug will show a price once we have one. Tell us what's missing at kluginsights@gmail.com and we'll work on adding it.

  • Delivery is coming soon. For now, Klug helps you compare prices and plan your shop so you know where to buy and what it will cost. The shopping itself happens at the store you choose, or through that store's own delivery if it offers one.

  • Your receipts and shopping lists are private to you. Group lists are visible only to the group's members. Klug uses combined, anonymous insights about shopping trends and never shows your personal receipts to stores or other shoppers. You can delete your account and data at any time from the Delete Account page.

  • Klug is on Google Play for Android now. An iPhone app is coming soon. Join the iPhone waitlist and we'll email you the moment it's on the App Store.
